ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 8, 2005

6:45 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula Keefe, Ellen Abelson, Richard

                  Gorden and Mark Mazur

1.  The Board read a notice concerning the transfer of an appeal from the County

     Commissioners to the Appellate Tax Board (ATB).

2.  The Board reviewed bids for door hangers that will be used during our data

     re-inspection project.  Subject to the resolution of some remaining questions, the

     Board approved the selection of the low bidder for the project.

3.  The Board reviewed and then approved, as amended, an insert for the fall tax bills

     that will provide an explanation of the Community Preservation Act (C.P.A.).

4.  The Board reviewed and then approved, as amended, a news release concerning our

     data re-inspection project.

5.  The Board read a listing of ATB cases that are scheduled for hearings.

6.  The Board agreed to hold the FY2006 classification hearing on September 27, 2005

     at 8:15 P.M.

7.  The Board agreed to make the following recommendations at the FY2006

     classification hearing:

- That the Board of Selectmen choose a residential factor of “one” for fiscal

year 2006

- That the Board of Selectmen choose not to adopt a residential exemption for

fiscal year 2006.

- That the Board of Selectmen choose not to adopt a small commercial exemption

for fiscal year 2006.

7:30 P.M.   The Board went into Executive Session.

7:40 P.M.   The Board returned from Executive Session and adjourned.
